A GREAT workout! A MUST Try! Only 10 minutes!

Found this video-HAD to post. It's my FAV trainer, Tony Horton and the gals from FitSugar doing a 10 minute workout! It's a combination of p90x, p90x2, AND 10 min trainer! My mom did this workout and LOVED it, she said it really worked her entire body. For those who don't know my mom, she's not really into working out as much as I am, so to say she loved it-that's HUGE! Guys, if you ever wondered if you'd like p90x or 10 min trainer, TRY this workout (whenever you get a chance-remember its ONLY 10 mins-anyone has 10 mins!) and see if you like it! If you do end up trying it and liking it, comment below or private message me! I'd love to hear from you! K, i've done the work-posted the video and explained myself-NOW it's up to YOU to TRY IT! Ready, set, GO!

HOW TO-OVERCOME excuses! Follow these tips & finally lose weight and keep it off for good

I'm going to share with you 5 excuses I hear people make and ways to get around them!

#1 excuse I hear (and used to make)-I don't have time to eat healthy even though I should.
EVERYONE has 24 hours in a day, we all CHOOSE what we do with it. Eating healthy CAN be fast and convenient. It's all in PREPARATION. If you don't prepare, you will fail. All it takes is ONE DAY-make all your meals in advance-BAM all you have to do is GRAB AND GO! With anything else in life, if you don't prepare-it won't cut it. For an example, you have a big speech coming up and you decide NOT to prepare for it, and you wing it. Then your speech ends up being a disaster and you freeze up. All because you chose to NOT prepare ahead of time. We all can do this, just takes a little focus! Just imagine how nice it would be to have all your meals already premade! Then you won't have the excuse of "i don't have time" anymore! ;)

#2 Excuse I hear-I HATE working out-it's boring, I don't find it fun.
OK, I understand if you're going to the gym every day and are constantly doing the SAME routines EVERY day (trust me, i've been there, done that) then YEAH it's going to be a BORE. BUT if you add VARIETY in your workouts and get people to work out with you, BAM! It's fun! I especially love beachbody programs-some of my favs are 10 min trainer cardio, Kenpo X from p90x, Kenpo plus from p90x plus, AND I've heard turbo fire cardio HIT is pretty fun. All of these have variety, which spices it up and keeps you going! There IS such thing as fun workouts-you just gotta look for them. There's also zumba, kickboxing, dancing, yoga...to name more. Once you have found your go-to work out program, the excuse "working out isn't fun" GOES AWAY! If you're having trouble looking for the RIGHT work out program for you, ask/comment below!

#3 Excuse-Vegetables always taste so blah when I cook them.
Ok ok, I know not ALL veggies taste WONDERFUL. (I for one am NOT fond of eggplant or kale.) BUT there are ways you can make them taste better. You can season them with your favorite seasoning, or steam them then top them with balsamic vingeratte. You can bake them in oil and make them toasty. You can grill them! Or put a low fat cheese over them. There are lots of varieties online even on how you can spruce up your veggies. No excuses!

#4 Excuse-I HAVE to have something sweet, it's hard to say no to desssert!
Ok, we all love dessert. There ARE healthier options out there for dessert. For example, FRUIT is a good one. I personally LOVE pineapple and strawberries in a fruit salad. If you want something more than fruit-you can make the no bake energy bites (that I have in my clean eating recipe section) they will BLOW your mind! Great as dessert AND snacks. I actually skipped all the pies at thanksgiving and had some no bakes energy bites instead! Afterwards, my sweet tooth was satisfied! Other options: Dark chocolate (has antioxidants), protein muffins (muffins made with protein powder), or healthified cookie dough bites. There are TONS of healthy dessert options out there (i find all of mine on pinterest!). If you want dessert and you don't want to pay the price of gaining weight-look into having healthier versions of your favs!

#5 EXCUSE I don't know how to cook-so i'll just keep getting fast food!
I hate to cook too, I'm right there with ya. If you REALLY don't want to cook-you don't really have to. There are a lot of options out there-EVEN fast food-just WHAT KIND of fast food? Well, you can customize your order-get a grilled chicken sandwich on wheat w/no mayo (if they don't have wheat ask to put lettace around the chicken for you-just an idea!) OR order a chicken salad and get a balsamic dressing on the side! OR you can get turkey sandwiches on wheat w/no dressing but add all the veggies you desire! Sometimes I run real quick into the grocery store and get premade turkey sandwiches OR the precooked chickens and eat that along with steamed veggies out of a steamers bag from the frozen section! Quick and easy!

With all these tips, you'll be LESS focused on the excuses, and MORE focused on RESULTS! You can't have both! If you're willing to put a little effort into it, you CAN throw all these excuses out the window and START NEW! What would you rather have? Struggle or regret? Regret is much harder than struggle. So get to it! You choose-a healthy body that you take care of and do the things necessary to take care of it, OR NOT take care of yourself and live unhealthy with no energy and low self esteem. YOU are the only one that is going to make this decision. Choose wisely!!

Tony Horton's 10 minute trainer-From a Challengers Point of View

This is a blog post one of my challengers made (off of my FIRST ever challenge group! i'm opening up my 2nd challenge group SOON! stay tuned!)

Day #1 of Tony Horton's 10 minute trainer

So today I did the cardio warm up, cardio, and cardio cool down portion of Tony Horton's 10 minute trainer. That was a total of 14 minutes. Whew boy. I was sweating, especially after I did what they call "tires." I am so glad I decided on this program first. I don't think I would have survived P90. Per Beachbody's and my coach's recommendation for my online fitness challenge, I took measurements for Day #1. It was a bit discouraging but then some of it was encouraging since I went back on this blog and found my measurements from August. There has been improvement! Very small, granted since I have not worked out. Hence, this is why I'm starting a program since hopefully I will see more progress more quickly with losing inches, etc.

Here goes.

Day #1 Measurements:

Chest: 45 inches

R. Arm: 14 1/2 inches

L. Arm: 14 inches

Waist at belly button: 43 inches

Hips: 48 inches

R. Thigh: 24 inches

L. Thigh: 24 inches

Weight: 207. 6 pounds.

I went back and looked at August when I measured.  So far, I have already lost 1/2 inch off of my chest, 1/2 inch off of my left arm, 2 inches off of my waist, and last of all, 3 inches off of my hips. So there has been some progress. Hopefully now that I've got a program started I will see more progress more quickly!! Very excited.

Have a great day everyone!!

CHECK OUT her blog-http://britney-myjourneymyway.blogspot.com! It talks about her journey with 10 min trainer-she's already lost weight and is doing FANTASTIC! SO PROUD of her!!! Yay Britney!!

Side note:
For all of those who haven't heard of 10 min trainer, it is a workout from Tony Horton (same guy who does P90X) that's only 10 mins a day! It works! I've done it previously (it helped me get ready for programs like P90X)! It works-IF YOU WORK for it. If you want/need more info regarding 10 min trainer, contact me! I'm ready to help!

Tips on how to lose weight and STICK WITH IT

We all want to lose weight, but we might need some pointers on how to get started. Here are some of my own personal tips for you to use.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-Write down all of your goals.  Write down why its important to reach those goals. Then put it somewhere where you will see it every day. Could be in your phone, your fridge, your car, wherever. Try to read over it at least twice a day as a daily reminder to yourself. The more you look at your goals, the more you'll think about reaching them.

-After you've written down your goals, write down a game plan describing how you're going to go about reaching those goals. What plans do you have in place to get those last 5 lbs off? Whatever your goal is, plan accordingly. For example, you could tell yourself that you're planning on working out 6 days a week.

-Get on a work out program (or figure out a workout routine) and TAKE ACTION immediately. Do a little a day, then challenge yourself a little more, and sooner or later you'll be working out 6 days a week! DON'T START doing it 6 days!!! START SLOW, and BUILD YOURSELF UP! THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT TIP!

-Eat 80% clean foods and indulge 20% of the time. Definitely don't deprive yourself. It's important to be balanced in what your eating! Letting yourself indulge will help you stick with it.

-Keep a food diary-it helps you see what you're eating and keeps you accountable. Join peertrainer.com and log your foods there, or in a regular diary. In peertrainer you can connect with a whole community and they can look at all of your logs and monitor you (if you ask.) It's an awesome way to keep yourself accountable-i did this and lost 40 lbs!

-Tell your friends/family/co workers what your goal is so that they will be understanding and help support you. You don't want to go to a clean diet and have people giving you lots of candy for gifts!!

-Take a rest day. Allow your body to rest and recover-also good for not burning out on your workouts!

-Find a workout thats FUN and that doesn't feel like working out. For me, when I go to the gym-its not fun. But p90x is fun (to me.) So i choose to do that. Do what you enjoy so you'll keep up with it!

-Make healthy food TASTE GOOD. Healthy eating does NOT mean BLAND. Look up recipes online (there are TONS of great websites-eatclean is one of them!). If you make what you eat YUMMY and don't get bored, you'll stay consistent with it!

-Embrace that you're losing weight and focus ALL of your activities around it. It will CONSTANTLY keep your reminded that you are in this for the long run.

-Find a workout buddy!Or a cooking buddy!

-Cook all of your meals for the week ahead of time! Prep everything, so that you can grab and go! That way you don't have the excuse of eating a fast food meal!

-KEEP ALL JUNK FOODS OUT of your house/fridge! If it's in there, you'll eat it!

-BELIEVE you can do it! Tell yourself everyday that you are getting stronger and TRAIN YOUR MIND to lead you to SUCCESS! Let go of all the negative talk (the voice in your head that says it's too hard) and instead talk POSITIVELY to yourself! It makes a HUGE difference!

-Practice doing all of these good habits for at least 30-60 days. Sooner or later they'll become natural! And they'll be HABITS that you REFUSE to break! And how easy was that? The weight stays OFF!

Need Support? JOIN MY NEW CHALLENGE GROUP!!

3 years ago I was able to lose 40 lbs in 9 months. A year later some of the weight crept back because I wasn't able to stick to it. Now, I'm in a support group (of like minded people who help/assist me on a daily basis) and feel like its one of the MAIN reasons I'm able to stay consistent with my workouts. Support groups have helped me be accountable and stay on track. Whenever I felt like I was slipping there were like minded people there to lift me back up.

I truly think support groups are THE MOST important thing to have when it comes to tackling your fitness goals. This is why I decided to make my own support group for anyone who is struggling. It's important that you hold yourself accountable to others. It makes it fun too!

If you would like to be considered to be a participant in my Beachbody Challenge, please request to join the group  in the comments below OR add me on fb (www.facebook.com/lovep90x) and I will shoot you over the deets! ;)

Soul Surfer-SO inspiring!

Has anyone seen the movie, Soul Surfer?? I swear this movie is ONE OF THE MOST inspiring movies I've EVER seen! It's based on a TRUE story, where the girl (her name is Bethany Hamilton) was surfing and got bit in the arm by a shark. The shark managed to eat off her entire left arm! The crazy thing is, she went back to surfing less than ONE MONTH later!!! And started working out (WITH JUST ONE ARM)! She is now a PROFESSIONAL SURFER. If she can do all the moves that she does with just one arm (in the video above) AND become a pro surfer it shows that ANYTHING is POSSIBLE! I love that she pushes through regardless of her circumstances. This motivates me to keep going with my fitnesss goals. Anytime I say "I can't do that", I catch myself and say, actually I CAN! If she has one arm and can do push ups, there shouldn't be any reason why I can't since I have two arms. If she motivates you, comment below! I'd love for each of you to take some time out of your day to watch the short clip above. It truly is unbelievable what she can do with only one arm! IF SHE CAN PUSH HERSELF PAST HER LIMITS, SO CAN YOU!
